My Story
I grew up surrounded by teachers in rural Connecticut. Seeing my parents enthusiasm and enjoyment of the profession ignited my desire to teach.
In 1996 I left my hometown and began my journey to teaching at Boston College. I triple majored in Elementary Education, Moderate Special Needs and Math and Computer Science.
Upon graduating I began teaching at the Beethoven School in West Roxbury in a L/AB cluster for students with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. It was there that I had the opportunity to work under Dave Patota, future Principal of the South Elementary School.
A year after he began his Principalship at the South, he contacted me with a job opportunity. Enjoying the idea of trying something new I left Boston and began teaching in a substantially separate special education classroom for students with language based learning disabilities.
As Stoughton shifted its focus toward inclusion I had the opportunity of Co-Teaching and realized how much I enjoyed working with a larger population.
The next year I taught fifth grade and have now found a home in Room 7 with an insightful group of second graders.
When the school day ends I get to go home to my beautiful daughters, Genevieve and Lilliana, and my husband Gary (also a teacher). We love being outside and playing games as a family.
